CUTTING EDGE PATIENT CARE
We are looking for passionate new veterinary technicians to join our anesthesia team. Veterinary anesthesia is a challenging and rewarding career. You will work with our team of specialist anesthesiologists and surgeons as part of a skilled and committed group of anesthesia technicians and staff. You will learn advanced anesthetic techniques including multimodal analgesia, use of local blocks and post-operative pain management. There is plenty of exposure to advanced patient care – we are the largest veterinary hospital in the southeast, treating more than 50,000 patients annually.
GET PAID AS YOU LEARN
New to veterinary anesthesia but excited to learn? We love this! You will join a group of recently graduated veterinary technicians and we will spend the first three months developing your emergency skills, CPR, anesthesia techniques and patient assessment through a combination of didactic lectures, laboratory experiences and hands-on experience on the hospital floor. Your initial training will be provided by our Veterinary Technician Specialists (VTS) and faculty. You will be assigned a mentor from our senior doctors and technicians who will be your go-to person as you get settled in.

CAREER AND COMPENSATION
Starting salary is very competitive and includes extensive benefits like paid leave and comprehensive healthcare. Additional compensation is provided for overnight and weekend work. We value your qualifications and prioritize the career development of our technicians – you will develop advanced clinical skills and and grow in your position at UF with the help of a structured career ladder. We encourage our technicians to pursue VTS certification in their area of work and provide support for preparing for the VTS exam.
CAREER-LONG EDUCATION
Education is what sets the University of Florida apart. We are here for our patients, our students and our team. Our technicians have access to regular scheduled continuing education, as well as funded opportunities to attend outside conferences.
